So...after a long time of thinking about it...I have decided to hold a contest based on the theme entitled "Bare Bones." Here are the rules for the contest:

1. You will make this piece of art for the contest...no tossing one in that you've had for a while.

2. Artwork may be any media, and each will be regarded with time and an open attitude (a.k.a. I'm not going to disregard it because of the media chosen)

3. Along with the artwork itself, in the artist's description, put your interpretation of the theme. Meaning, say why you used the imagery you used. It doesn't have to be a long statement, just the general gist of what you were trying to say.

4. Works will be scored on a point system: Originality (10)
Composition (10)
Description (10)
Overall Impact (10)
Presentation (5)
Use of my stock (5)

If you use my stock as a reference, which can be found @ [link] you will automatically receive the 5 points.

So what do you win?

You get a commissioned artwork by me, free of charge AAAAND a 3 month subscription to DA. You will also receive a free gift from me, as well as a feature in my journal.


So who wants to try it out?

Please keep in mind that the theme is very loose. Your piece, for example, doesn't have to include bones at all, as the phrase is just an expression. You can take the theme as far or near as you want, just be sure to include your interpretation in the artist's comments.



The deadline for this contest will end on August 08, 2009 @ 12:00 noon PST. I can't wait to see what some people come up with
